With Leeds United fans waiting for the official confirmation that striker Kemar Roofe has completed his expected switch out to Anderlecht, it’s now been claimed that our top target to replace him is a favourite on the rumour mill this summer – Liverpool’s Ryan Kent.
Leeds have long been linked with having a potential interest in the 22-year-old winger, and in 2018/19 whilst on a loan spell with Scottish side Rangers he scored six times and provided nine assists in 43 appearances, but with that return record I fail to see how he’s in any way Roofe’s replacement as claimed.
Whilst I’m not exactly an expert on him, he is versatile and can play on both wings and he has spent some time down the middle, but not as a central striker. It has been reported that we’ve offered Liverpool £7million including add-ons for his services next season.
Manager Marcelo Bielsa must simply see something plenty of others don’t…but it wouldn’t be the first time.
